Indian Charlie won his first four starts, taking his first by 12 lengths, his second by 8 lengths, and earning a 112 Beyer in his third. He then set a new stakes record of 1:47 in the 1 1/8 mile Santa Anita Derby (G1), defeating champions Real Quiet and Artax. He was a favorite for the Kentucky Derby (G1) and ran a strong third earning a 103 Beyer in the process, but was injured and did not start again.

March 2003 - Indian Charlie currently ranks at #12 among the second crop sires of 2003 with 19 winners and six stakes horses from his first crop to race, including Stakes Winner JAZZ LADY.
