Leading
sire Unbridled's Song comes from generations of Leading Sires-starting
with Native Dancer on through Raise a Native, Mr. Prospector,
Fappiano and Unbridled.
His sire, the late Unbridled, won both the Kentucky Derby
and the Breeders' Cup Classic. In his relatively short career
at stud, he had established himself as one of the leading
sires in the world. Among his numerous Grade 1 winners were
a Kentucky Derby winner and two Breeders' Cup winners.
Unbridled's Song in just two crops to race, is looking
very much like his sire Unbridled. Like Unbridled, Unbridled's
Song has sired a Breeders' Cup winner from his first crop.
In his first two crops to race, Unbridled's Song has sired
3 Grade 1 winners including $2.3 million Breeders' Cup Distaff
winner Unbridled Elaine, Wood Memorial winner Buddha and
Fountain of Youth winner Songandaprayer.
As a commercial sire, Unbridled's Song has been nothing
short of sensational. In 2001, yearlings by Unbridled's
Song sold for up to $1.9 million. Upon retirement to the
breeding shed, Unbridled's Song was the #1 first-crop covering
sire, #1 first-crop weanling sire and #1 first-crop yearling
sire.
A $1.4 million two year old, Unbridled's Song was offered
for sale at the Barretts March two year old in training
sale. His work of 10 1/5 was, at the time, the fastest time
ever recorded at the sale. At the time he was offered for
sale, the $1.4 million price tag was the highest price ever
offered for a two year old in training.
